Valentino Rossi leads VR46 Academy preparations in Misano as Bagnaia, Bezzecchi, and Di Giannantonio target strong results at Mugello

VR46 Academy has once again held an intensive training session ahead of the Italian MotoGP at Mugello. The program took place at the Misano circuit and involved several VR46 Academy riders as part of their preparation for one of the most important races of the season.

The Misano training session is considered a key part of the academy’s regular program to keep its riders competitive throughout the championship. Valentino Rossi remains actively involved in monitoring the progress of his young riders, especially before the home race at Mugello, which always brings enormous pressure and expectations for Italian competitors.

Several high-profile names participated in the training, including Francesco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi, and Fabio Di Giannantonio, alongside younger riders from the Moto2 and Moto3 categories. The riders trained using production-based sport motorcycles to improve their physical condition, race consistency, and adaptability in different track situations.

The atmosphere during the sessions was competitive yet relaxed, reflecting the philosophy of the VR46 Academy, which focuses on teamwork and collective development among its riders. Rossi himself is reportedly still frequently riding on track alongside the academy members to motivate them and share his experience with the younger generation.

Mugello is widely recognized as one of the most special rounds for Italian riders. Massive support from local fans creates greater mental pressure and expectations compared to other races on the MotoGP calendar. Because of this, the VR46 Academy used the Misano training camp to prepare its riders both technically and mentally.

Beyond improving track performance, the group training sessions are also aimed at strengthening relationships between riders within the academy. The VR46 program has earned a reputation for creating a healthy competitive environment that has helped many Italian riders develop into top-level MotoGP competitors.

The academy’s success can be seen through the consistent performances of its riders at the front of MotoGP in recent seasons. Francesco Bagnaia has already become a world champion with Ducati, while Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio continue to show significant progress in the premier class.

Ahead of the 2026 Italian MotoGP, the Misano training sessions are expected to help the VR46 riders perform at their best at Mugello. Support from thousands of Italian tifosi is also expected to provide extra motivation for Valentino Rossi’s academy riders to fight near the front of the field.
