Marc Marquez appears on the provisional Mugello entry list as Ducati continues monitoring his recovery ahead of the 2026 Italian MotoGP

The appearance of Marc Marquez in the provisional entry list for the 2026 Italian MotoGP has sparked major speculation about a possible comeback at Mugello. MotoGP fans immediately became curious after the Ducati Lenovo Team rider’s name was included in the official entry list for this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

Previously, Marquez was forced to miss the Catalan MotoGP after suffering injuries in a heavy crash during a practice session. Ducati decided not to rush the eight-time world champion back into action, choosing instead to prioritize his recovery process. His absence in Catalunya was considered a significant blow to this season’s championship battle.

However, the inclusion of Marquez’s name in the Italian GP entry list has fueled rumors that the Spanish rider could return to racing sooner than expected. Even so, neither Ducati nor the medical team has provided official confirmation regarding Marc Marquez’s latest physical condition.

Provisional entry lists often include riders who are still awaiting final medical clearance ahead of the race weekend. Therefore, Marquez’s presence on the list cannot yet be seen as definite proof that he will compete at Mugello. The 33-year-old rider must still pass mandatory fitness tests before being allowed to race.

If Marc Marquez does return for the Italian MotoGP, his comeback is expected to intensify the battle at the front alongside Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin, and Pedro Acosta. Mugello is widely known as one of the most physically demanding circuits on the MotoGP calendar due to its high-speed layout and constant direction changes.

Meanwhile, Ducati is expected to continue monitoring Marquez’s recovery until the opening sessions of the Italian MotoGP. The Italian manufacturer reportedly does not want to take unnecessary risks that could worsen the rider’s injury amid the fierce competition of the 2026 season.
