Aprilia Racing is reportedly moving closer to securing a major commercial partnership with Monster Energy, a development that could dramatically reshape the sponsorship landscape in MotoGP beginning in the 2027 season.
For several years, Monster Energy has remained one of the most recognizable brands in motorcycle racing. The energy drink giant has built strong relationships with multiple riders, teams, and championships across MotoGP, motocross, and superbike racing. However, recent reports suggest the company may now be preparing for a significant shift in strategy by aligning itself with Aprilia Racing as a future title sponsor.
The possible agreement comes during an important transition period for both Aprilia and MotoGP itself. The Italian manufacturer has experienced remarkable growth over the past few seasons, transforming from a midfield competitor into a genuine championship contender capable of regularly fighting for podiums and race victories. Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola previously admitted disappointment over the team’s inability to secure a title partner despite enjoying the strongest period in the company’s MotoGP history. Rivola explained earlier this year that Aprilia’s sporting success had not yet translated into equivalent commercial momentum, especially compared to rivals like Ducati, KTM, Yamaha, and Honda.
At present, Ducati benefits from long-term backing with Lenovo, KTM continues its deep partnership with Red Bull, while Yamaha has maintained a strong relationship with Monster Energy since 2019. Honda also recently strengthened its commercial identity through sponsorship agreements with Castrol.
