In a recent court proceeding held on Friday, January 24, 2025, creditors have filed claims totaling approximately €2.2 billion (around Rp37 trillion) against KTM AG and its two subsidiaries. The hearing took place at the Regional Court in Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria, as part of the company's bankruptcy process.

The list of creditors includes around 5,400 entities, among them the city of Mattighofen, which is seeking payment for overdue waste disposal fees. Additionally, various banks are owed approximately €1.3 billion (about Rp22 trillion).

This significant financial turmoil has led to substantial changes within KTM's leadership. Stefan Pierer, who has been at the helm of the company, has resigned from his position as CEO. His departure marks a pivotal moment for the company as it navigates through these challenging times.

The bankruptcy proceedings and the substantial claims filed by creditors highlight the severity of KTM's financial crisis. The company's ability to address these claims and restructure its debts will be crucial in determining its future viability.

The involvement of municipal entities like the city of Mattighofen indicates that KTM's financial difficulties have far-reaching implications, affecting not only large financial institutions but also local communities.

As the situation develops, stakeholders will be closely monitoring KTM's strategies to manage its debt and the potential impact on its operations and workforce. The outcome of these proceedings will have significant implications for the company's future and its position in the industry.
